OUR
STORY.
POC Collaborative started with something our community has always known: we have what we need. For founder Katrina Adams, that belief took shape at the corner of 24th and Wirt. In 2019, she bought the former Calvin Memorial Presbyterian Church, which longtime North Omahans know as the “popcorn ball church,” to preserve a community cornerstone and give it new life. In January 2020, POCC became an official 501(c)(3).
The church shows that we are stronger together, and so do the businesses along North and South 24th Streets, the families who built them, and the leaders who kept showing up. Our neighbors, spaces, and businesses already hold abundant resources, knowledge, and capacity, and our community’s rich history and culture fuel what comes next. So instead of starting with what’s missing, we start with what’s here. We connect the people, businesses, and organizations already doing the work and build on it together. That’s how we Build a Legacy by Design, for this generation and the next.
